ASUS is definitely a big name when it comes to the technology manufacturers. The company has several modern tablet PCs under its credit and these are designed for both the mainstream consumers and corporate professionals. When it comes to the ASUS Eee Slate EP121, it has some awesome features that are sure to blow away any technology freak’s mind.
Many technical specialists feel that Windows isn’t that tablet friendly and they show the fact that windows tablets have been historically plagued with kind of sluggish fingertip input as the reason. This being said, ASUS Eee Slate EP121 is kind of an exception. The screen is quite big, so as the digital keyboard, thereby making it easier to operate. As the screen is sensitive, you can get instant response as well. Also, it is nice to see that the webpages can easily be scrolled up and down – a feature that most of the Windows tablets don’t have.
This tablet has numerous input & output ports, such as: one memory card reader, a couple of USB ports, an audio jack and an HDMI port. Again, HDMI capability is something that most of the tablets miss, making ASUS Eee Slate EP121 a frontrunner.
Design of the Tablet
You can call the design to be convenient or confusing – it’s your choice entirely. For users, portability is the main key when it comes to a tablet, however, this is a downside with ASUS Eee Slate EP121. The screen is big and bulky; the weight is pretty light as well. There’s a Bluetooth keyboard which comes attached with the tablet and it may please or displease you, depending on what exactly you want to do. If you wish to use the tablet in that mode primarily, this can prove to be great for you. However, if you wish to use an actual keyboard, things can turn out to be problematic. If you consider yourself to be a keyboard inclined user, you will be sad to know that ASUS Eee Slate EP121 doesn’t have a mouse pad either. One positive side on the Bluetooth keyboard: the same is designed ergonomically, making it a perfect fit with the display screen of the tablet.
Enough on the flaws, let’s talk about a positive point when it comes to the design. The device looks really cool as the edges are sleek bezel. The screen on the other hand is made of glossy glass, making it really attractive.
Performance wise, this device is hands down impressive. The processor is a powerful Intel Core i5 which comes with a 4 GB of DDR3-1 x SO-DIMM memory. There are two hard drive (SSD) versions of the laptop – one has 32 GB, whereas, the other has 64 GB. SSD version of a hard drive are less susceptible, speedier and quieter in comparison with the typical HDD ones, making ASUS Eee Slate EP121 a convenient choice for tablet users.
On a nutshell, ASUS Eee Slate EP121 is pretty nice as a tablet. There are some design flaws, particularly those who prefer to use a physical keyboard may find it tough to use. However, if you are intending to use it in Tablet mode only, just go for it and enjoy the performance.
